Estee Lauder Company

Location: New York

Clean, stylish New York office executive spaces in Manhattan’s GM Building.

Ongoing office space planning and interiors work at this major corporate headquarters. Projects totaling 235,000 sf include space planning and fit-out for offices, meeting rooms, training facilities, media installations, computing/IT, mailroom and shipping facilities, product displays and art installations.

The design creates a calm, simple yet elegant environment for the offices, based on concepts that could be extended through a range of spaces to create an environment of continuity. The intention was specifically to be more woman-friendly than most corporate interiors reflecting the company’s business and heritage having been founded by a woman and catering largely to a female market.

Calm, light neutrals predominate. Coffer ceilings with cove lighting create the sense of a higher ceiling and more airy spaces despite the standard office floor-to-floor heights. Spaces incorporate many high-tech capabilities and display components, the mechanisms for which are designed to be fully concealed to maintain an elegant serene environment.
